THADFEST 2 ; OVER AND OUT
Just like to say a big thankyou to everyone who attended Thadfest 2. Although the attendance was not as large as first expected, due to some people buying tickets and not turning up, the event was still a huge success and was very enjoyable for the ticket holders and bands.
Special thanks to everybody who helped with the running of the event, ticket sales and the music. I think everyone will agree Thadfest 2 was an excellent show. ROLL ON THADFEST 3......

History
Thadfest was created by the masters, Thad and T, when a Good Mother Lizard gig at the Pelican in Stroud was cancelled. They both decided that Thad deserved a fest because of his endless work for the community. Also, with T being the drummer in Good Mother Lizard, they wanted a gig for the band that wouldn't be cancelled.
Everybody doubted the pairs ability to put together a festival, and these doubts nearly became a reality when Thad stupidly arrived at Thadfest 2001 three hours late and only ten minutes before the doors were due to open!!
But, arrive he did and the rest, as they say, is history. Well, it will be history when the last ever Thadfest is over but that is a long way away so it was a silly choice of phrase. (Thad's fault!!) |
THADFEST CD:
Thadfest 2 was recorded by the great, and very professional Dave. As soon as the tracks are mixed and the best ones are chosen, there will be a CD on sale including tracks by all the bands who graced Thadfest 2 with their presence. Make sure you get your copy! There will also be a video of the event for sale.

Events
THE BOOTH: - The booth is a small room, or cupboard, in which Thad is enclosed for parts of the fest. People pay small amounts of money to watch him for a certain amount of time or to poke him with a specially designed "Thadfest Pokey Stick".
BANDS: - As with many music festivals, bands are involved in the Thadfest(!!!). It is hoped that Good Mother Lizard and BoyEatsGirl will play every Thadfest

Bands
Good Mother Lizard - As I have already told you, one half of The Masters, T, is the drummer in Good Mother Lizard. They are a grungey five piece from the Stroud area and headlined Thadfest 2001. Check them out at www.goodmotherlizard.fws1.com
BoyEatsGirl - Another band from the Stroud area, this four piece were second on the bill at Thadfest 2001 but have improved dramatically since the event. You can find them at www.boyeatsgirl.fws1.com
Vena Cava - No longer a band. They opened proceedings at Thadfest 2001 but had already announced they were to split. Included BoyEatsGirl members Ed Gibbs and Ned Davis aswell as Good Mother Lizard guitarist Joe C.
The Gastropod - Thadfest 2 openers. Are expected to give the crowd an early wake-up as they play their jazz-core-ska-punk-de-la-funk-metal, as described by frontman Jim Ward and Saxophonist/Guitarist Ali Smith. Check out their website using the Thadfest Links page.
Matt And Alex's Funk Band - The name pretty much gives this one away! A funk band by Matt (former Good Mother Lizard guitarist) and Alex Woodward. Playing an improvised funk set at Thadfest 2.
Spine - Brilliant hardcore outfit. Headlining Thadfest 2. Ummm...... One of the best bands in Britain!
